Playlists and Scheduling

Configure the handling of playlists and times.

Playlist Mode Play in order - plays tracks in the order that they are entered in the playlist and loops
Randomise - shuffles the playlist each time it reloads
Shuffle - picks a random track each time one finishes
Time Zone The timezone used for scheduling and the timestamp on live recordings
Add Jingles Inserts tracks from the 'jingles' folder between tracks
Jingle Interval The number of tracks to play between each jingle
Jingles to Play The number of jingles to play in a row
Prevent Artist Repeat Stops tracks from the same artist from being played (in minutes). If the AutoDJ cues a track from the same artist then it will be skipped.
Notes:
  • This feature relies on the artist ID3 tag being present, MP3s without ID3 tags will be ignored - the filename isn't taken into account.
  • Ensure that your playlists have enough tracks to be played in the time you've set. If more than 100 tracks are skipped within the given time, then the feature will be temporarily disabled and the same artist may be repeated (this is necessary to prevent dead air).

Live DJ Recording

Set AutoDJ to record any live shows that are streamed.

Live Record Automatically record live shows and add to the default playlist
Date Format Datestamp on live recordings, choose your local date format, can be DD-MM-YYYY (international), MM-DD-YYYY (USA), or YYYY-MM-DD

Manage Files

Manage and upload your audio files. There are 3 main folders automatically set up which you should not delete:

media
The main folder for your audio files. You can create as many sub-folders as you require. If no playlists are scheduled then AutoDJ will automatically load all audio files from your media folder and any sub-folders to create a default playlist

live
Any saved live recordings will be saved to the live folder. The recordings will get added to your default playlist

jingles
Upload your jingles, sweepers and ads here. If you have jingles activated then content from this folder will be put into the rotation between tracks
Web Manager Upload and manage files through the web based uploader
FTP Login We recommend that you manage your files using an FTP client, this allows you to upload files more easily and quickly

Playlists

Create and manage your playlists to control what gets played at specific times.

Add Playlist Create a playlist and start adding audio tracks. Once you've saved the playlist, you can set a schedule
Schedule Choose the start date/time and end date/time. Playlist schedules can be repeated daily, weekly, monthly or annually
All Schedules You can view all scheduled playlists. From this page, you can also prioritise your schedules in cases where they overlap. For example, if you have a playlist set for Wednesdays but need to run a sepcific show in the evening, then you can set the evening playlist as a higher priority and it will interrupt the main Wednesday playlist

Live DJ

Connect a live source without the need to stop your AutoDJ stream, our redesigned AutoDJ system takes care of the seamless transition between pre-recorded content and live shows.

This means that you and your DJs should not connect to the stream server itself - you should use the settings provided here to connect live.

How does it work?

When you or your DJs connect using the settings above, your AutoDJ will fade out the current track and start streaming your live content, ensuring that the transition is smooth and free from any buffering or reconnections.

When you disconnect the live stream, AutoDJ will start the next track from the beginning. No need to worry about your DJs forgetting to restart AutoDJ after their show!

We recommend connecting with the bitrate that you have set in the AutoDJ settings.

Automatic Recording

You can set AutoDJ to automatically record live shows. The recordings will be saved in the 'Live' folder and added to the default rotation. The name of the file will be in the following format:

My Show Name (DATE).mp3

You can choose the date format in the AutoDJ settings according to your local custom, available options are DD-MM-YYYY, MM-DD-YYYY or YYYY-MM-DD.

Note: If you stream two shows on the same day with the same name then they will get combined into one file.

Song Titles

You should set the Stream Name field in your streaming software to the name of your show. This will be passed to the server as the 'Song Title'.

If you change the song title during a show then it will be appended to your show title on the server, however it will not be visible when the show is re-played by AutoDJ as the song title is not saved as part of the file name.
